Scholarships
The Cheslie C. Kryst Foundation is dedicated to promoting mental wellness through community, creativity, and compassionate care. A vital aspect of this care is access to licensed mental health professionals. To support this, we offer scholarships to students pursuing advanced degrees and licensure in mental health-related fields. Our aim is to reduce the financial barriers of education so future counselors, therapists, and mental health advocates can focus on what matters most—supporting others with empathy, expertise, and compassion.
Fewer than 20% of all psychologists come from racial or ethnic minority groups.
The purpose of the scholarship is to support and encourage individuals from marginalized and underrepresented communities to obtain financial assistance in becoming counselors. Scholarships are available to students enrolled in programs such as social work, psychology, or counseling at accredited institutions.
Scholarships are awarded based on fund availability and meeting the following qualifications and criteria. If you meet the minimum requirements below, please apply.
- GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale
- A minimum of two years of work or volunteer experience supporting teens or young adults in mental health roles
- A letter of recommendation from a professional in the mental health field that speaks to your character, ethics, and commitment to counseling
- A maximum one-thousand-word essay explaining your motivation to pursue a career in counseling.
